Chrisoula Alexandraki is a Lecturer at the Department of Music Technology and Acoustics of the Technological Educational Institute of Crete. She is an active researcher with special interest in network music performance, audio coding, and music collaboration environments. She is pursuing a doctorate degree at the University of Hamburg (DE) under the co-supervision of Prof. Rolf Bader and Prof. Georg Hajdu. She has received an MSc degree in Music Technology from the University of York (UK) and a Degree in Physics from the University of Athens (GR). She has also studied piano performance and music theory. Her recent research interests are in the applications of machine learning in network music performance.

Music collaboration through the DIAMOUSES framework for NMP

DIAMOUSES is a stand-alone framework for NMP that we have been developing with the support of Greek national funds. In this talk I will discuss how music collaboration is realized in DIAMOUSES and I will present our evaluation experiments from a user-experience perspective.

Analysis of music performance through learning processes: from offline to online applications.

The current feasibility of Network Music Performances suggests the possibility of treating the network as a new medium offering continuous and multi-directional flow of musical information. In this perspective, a variety of audio and musical applications that were traditionally performed offline and on data files may be revisited. Examples of such applications include audio processing, music classification, performer identification, score and audio file alignment, tempo and pitch tracking, etc. This talk will attempt to investigate how these applications may become meaningful in distant settings and will address the challenges of their online implementation.
